Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting many wonderful guests at Picara Pearl Villa & Suites Magens Bay. These are their reviews. We have been rated Excellent on TripAdvisor and earned the designation of Superhost on Airbnb. We strive for excellence in the 3C's--communication, cleanliness, and customer service.
My favorite vacation ever!! I took my son here for spring break (just the two of us!) This home was comfortable and in an unbelievably beautiful location. The photos do not do the views any justice. Vivian and Esther responded quickly to all of my questions and needs. The home had everything you could think of, which alleviated a lot of stress from my mind, especially first arriving after traveling. If you did not pack something, they probably have it available. The home had shockingly beautiful ocean views form the balcony and a side patio perfect for grilling. The sounds of the waves, at any time of day were soothing and calming. Parking was easy, navigation apps worked every time, wi-fi was strong, water pressure great. It was easy to drive to any destination on the island from their home. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay in paradise, and was so happy with the hospitality Vivian and Esther provided. Heaven on earth!! Additional Comments: I have zero suggestions for improvements, thank you for opening your home and letting us stay with you!

A gorgeous location and plenty of thoughtful amenities. The standout for our experience was Esther’s communication- lots of very valuable traveler information and felt like we could ask any questions. We are familiar with the VI and have traveled here previously, but still really appreciated the helpful check-in and info that Esther provided.

The views from the porch, parking, and the picnic table overlooking Magens Bay are unsurpassed! The bedrooms all have windows/doors opening unto the bay porch with a view. So quiet and peaceful with helpful local host onsite but maintain privacy. We stayed with our family of 5 and enjoyed this as our home base for start and end of every days adventure. Being able to wash clothes, have beach towels, cooler, basic kitchen w spices, napkins and bottled water on hand made everything easy. They even had some basic starter grocery items in fridge along with toiletries in bathrooms so it would be possible to spend your first overnight here without having to stop for supplies. I recommend this stay.

We split our honeymoon between a resort and here, luckily we ended the honeymoon here. At the resort we were wide eyed at 4am when the rooster started to crow outside our room every morning! It took forever for our water to get warm and it only lasted a short amount of time. We ended our trip here, at Picara Point, and we felt like we were alone on our own little island. It was so quiet and peaceful. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks was all we heard all night long, it was the best sound to sleep to! The shower was huge, with great hot water and the most beautiful view of Magens Bay.. Sitting on the porch overlooking the water in the evenings was so romantic and stress relieving. We took walks up the road to admire the wildlife, views, beautiful homes, flowers and plants. We wouldn’t have enjoyed our honeymoon as much if we had stayed at the resort the entire time. Thank you Vivian and Esther!!

One word, Fantastic! This is the perfect place for a honeymoon, or family gathering! We enjoyed ourselves so much. Vivian and Esther are sweet as can be! Everything from the bagels and cream cheese, which was much appreciated, to the water, and amazing view could not have been better! The beach is a 5-minute drive. We tried all the beaches and Magens bay was our favorite! From Vivian's house it is a two-minute walk to watch the sunset from the point. This never felt too ‘ touristy’. Which was a blessing. We will definitely be back. Next time we hope to bring our family. We can’t wait to come back!! Additional Comments: You have a lovely guest suite! We’ve had so much fun and appreciate all you have done. We could not have stayed at a better place anywhere on the island! ♥️ We were talking about bringing our three adult children down here to meet y’all this winter.

Our family was looking for a more secluded location with an ocean view and this was perfect! The views were incredible and we fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean every night. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. The packet of information provided ahead of time was very helpful. The kitchen is well stocked and they even provide beverages and food to prepare breakfast! Magens Bay is very close and such a beautiful beach. Beach towels and a cooler provided were clutch! This is a great place to stay. Additional Comments: We had a great stay! It was amazing to fall asleep to ocean sounds and the views were incredible! The location was more secluded and off the beaten path which was exactly what we love. Thank you so much for stocking drinks and the breakfast! Our family enjoyed our stay ❤️

My stay at Vivian and Esther’s was wonderful. I arrived late and Esther was very helpful in talking to my taxi driver to make sure I arrived safely. I was very hungry, and they had refreshments waiting for me which was very appreciated. They also provided the list of taxi and car rentals. Cars were all booked up so I appreciated the taxi list. I highly recommend Mr. Joseph Henry. He knows where the villa is located and was fair with prices. He even gave me a tour of the island when he took me to the airport on my last day. The room was clean, had beautiful views and great communication from the hosts. If I could rent a car, I would definitely stay here again!! Additional Comments: Thank you for having me. The location is beautiful and the place is very comfortable. The pictures are true to reality - what you see is what you get. The hosts Esther and Vivian are very responsive and fix every little issue promptly. We also received detailed instructions about how to get to the villa, lists of taxis, rental car companies, and restaurants, and other useful information. You will also get welcome refreshments and breakfast items, very handy for breakfast. We would definitely stay again in Picara Pearl if we go back to St. Thomas. The villa is a little remote and you do need a rental car. Otherwise, your moves will be a little slow as you would need to wait for a taxi, which could take a while in the high season. With a car, everything - beaches, restaurants, ferries - can be reached promptly as the island is not very big. I recommend Magens Bay Beach (10 min drive; the far left side is very peaceful) and Secret Harbor (about 30 min drive, but the water is clean, warm, and gentle, and the restaurant is very good). For restaurants, the closest is RooT 42, which serves tasty and reasonably priced food and has ample outdoor and indoor seating. We also went to Thirteen, which is more upscale and has a great view, but is farther away.

What a fantastic experience we had! Perched along Magens Bay with a wonderful view and a short walk to Picara Point. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much for providing a clean and peaceful place to lodge during our stay on St. Thomas! We can't wait to come back again in the future! This is a very nice, secluded location with excellent unobstructed and breathtaking views. Listening to the crashing waves each night was so relaxing. For anyone looking to have a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, this is it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this villa! It was the perfect size for the two of us. The vaulted ceiling makes the space feel large and airy. Our favorite part was falling asleep to the sound of the waves in Magens Bay (and the very short drive to Magens Bay Beach!). We loved walking around the neighborhood and to the point (note: you cannot get to the end of the point right now for safety reasons). The community the house is in is gated and we felt very safe. The view is phenomenal. It was the perfect place for us to stay on the island! Highly recommend! Additional Comments: Thank you again for opening your beautiful home to us! We had an amazing time and the view was something we’ll always remember.

The best thing about this place is the location: literally on the tip of a narrow strip of land that juts out from Magens Bay, offering breathtaking views of the ocean from the balcony and on walks near the property. You hear the waves crashing against the cliffs 24/7. Large pelicans circle around in the mornings and at sunset dive-bombing for fish in the ocean. It's only a short drive to the Magens Bay Beach - rated top10 in the world - which is public access and never too crowded. Given the island is small, it's only a 20-minute ride to the urban centers Red Hook and Fort Christian (and adjoining airport). Another great thing about this place is Vivian's hospitality. She provided us with various amenities - like refreshments in the fridge - upon arrival, which was perfect for us. Esther was always quick to respond to our queries via text. The wifi was fast but did shut off briefly once or twice - Vivian and Esther were quick to resolve it.

What an amazing place to stay. This location really delivers with views, privacy, space, which added to our trip in a special way! Esther and Vivian were there to accommodate us with whatever we needed, and at the same time gave us complete privacy to enjoy ourselves. I highly recommend this home to stay in, and will continue to use this home whenever visiting the Virgin Islands.

Vivian and Esther are a great example of a perfect host. They are very attentive and knowledgeable of the island. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay excellent. The view is far more than what the pictures show. The unit was clean and perfectly located. Overall it felt like home and when I return to the island I plan to book them.

Vivian's place is absolutely wonderful. We felt like we had the best place on the island. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch each day listing to the waves and watching all of the wildlife. We left the curtains open at night time and all of the twinkling lights from the mountain across the water was so soothing to drift off to sleep to. Vivian and Esther were always available if we had any questions or request and made us feel so welcome. Wonderful family! Additional Comments: We enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home so much! We really enjoyed our time at this condo. It has amazing views and the host is also amazing!! They thought of everything we would need. The fridge had all kinds of goodies for us to snack on and drink. The only thing to be aware of when visiting the island is considering the curvy roads. I get motion sickness and I should have taken motion sickness medicine every time I went somewhere. One time I didn’t and I payed for it. This of course has nothing to do with the room but I thought it would be helpful if your planning on traveling to this beautiful island to be prepared for the roads. You really do need to be a confident driver to get around there. Esther recommends renting a car and I agree since this condo is at the end of the point. The sunsets were crazy awesome especially on the Point. You can also view them from your balcony. We actually had the privilege of seeing a rainbow over the water from the balcony our first morning, that was beautiful!! We mainly stayed at Magen Bay every day and then tried to stay as close to the condo as possible for eating out. Esther had several restaurant recommendations in her email. We ate at root 42 bar and grill a couple of times it was really good. We also ate at the Old Stone Farmhouse for our anniversary and it was delicious. I would highly recommend staying at this condo I don’t feel like you will get a better host than Vivian and Esther! Additional Comments: We had a wonderful time. The room was very clean and we had everything we needed. Thank you for everything!

If you’re looking for a private oasis off the beaten path where you can enjoy your own little slice of heaven, look no further! My fiancé and I spent a week at Picara Pearl Villa & Suites in the Bay Bliss Studio and words can’t express how magical it was. I highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or peaceful time alone.
The villa itself is situated at the tip of Peterborg Estate at Picara Point and offers stunning views of Magens Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It was the perfect location for us - a less than 10 minute drive to Magen’s Bay Beach and just steps away from the most gorgeous sunsets at Picara Point. We stayed in the smallest suite, but it was still quite spacious and more than enough room for 2 people. Our favorite thing about the suite was enjoying our coffee and breakfast on the balcony overlooking Magen’s Bay each morning. We were pleasantly surprised to find the fridge fully stocked with an assortment of drinks including bottled water as well as bagels and cream cheese for an easy breakfast. We also appreciated the beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, and snorkel gear which were provided to us and put to good use.
Esther, the business and property manager, was extremely responsive and made booking and planning our trip a breeze. She communicated with us before, during, and after our trip and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. On arrival, we were greeted by the owner Vivian who gave us her personal phone number in case we were to need anything. Coincidentally during our stay, the entire islands of both St. Thomas and St. John had an unexpected power outage. Within a couple hours, Uncle Johnny had a generator up and running for us. Picara Pearl is a small family owned and run business and we truly felt the love and hard work that they pour into this place, something I don’t think we could ever find at a resort. We can’t say enough good things about Picara Pearl and will definitely be back in the near future!

The room and view were amazing. The room was stocked with water, towels, chairs, bagels, many drinks and more. Esther and Vivian were very quick to respond to messages and ensured a great time. If you walk towards the point you can see some amazing sunsets. We mainly went to Redhook and it was about 25 minutes away. Great stay and would stay here again. Additional Comments: Hi, thank you so much for the stay. The water, towels, and drinks were great to have and a huge perk. The view was amazing every day.

Vivian and Esther are excellent host with an amazing place that was well stocked with kitchen supplies. Had coffee on the porch every morning watching the sunrise. The location is a bit far (for island) but beautiful views and quiet/safe. You will definitely need to rent a car to stay here. 5 mins from Magens Bay. I would stay here again 10/10.

This place is awesome. Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was the highlight of the morning. Magens Bay Beach is like 10 min away which is also a plus. Vivian and Esther were really greats hosts, if you have trouble finding or any questions just ask and they will get back to you with answers. loved this stay and would definitely book again.

This is the last house on the peninsula flanking Magens Bay. The views are incredible. Sounds of the ocean is the only sound you hear. Very clean, well-equipped and maintained. Lovely owner and manager.

Bottom line up front - My stay at Picara Pearl Villa and Suites was absolutely fantastic! Due to my short-notice assignment in St. Thomas, I was having much difficulty locating housing. I reached out to several hotels/BnBs to no avail, however, Esther (the host of Picara Pearl) was more than willing to accommodate my unique situation. Esther and her mother, Vivian, were extremely friendly and wonderful hosts who ensured that my 3-week stay at Picara Pearl was as comfortable as possible. The unit that I had the pleasure of spending my time in was a quiet, comfortable 2-bedroom with an amazing ocean view of Magen's Bay. Upon arrival, the hosts had the unit's refrigerator stocked with drinks, snacks, and enough basic food items to prepare a nice breakfast for the following morning (eggs, bagels, juice, etc.). Even in terms of the caliber of Air BnB services these days, I feel that they went above and beyond! During our stay, the coffee maker went down (catastrophic!) and, within an hour, Vivian had a new one placed outside on the porch ready for our use. Speaking of the porch, I loved spending my mornings out there enjoying a cup of coffee just as much as I did having a glass of wine watching the sunset. The road leading into Picara Pearl is a bit narrow and uneven, however, once we had traveled back and forth on it a few times, it was not an issue. Not to drag out this review, you will not be disappointed if you have the opportunity to stay at Picara Pearl. If there were an option to leave 6 stars, I would choose to do so. I will 100% be booking with Picara Pearl Villa and Suites when I have the pleasure of returning to St Thomas in the future!

We truly enjoyed our time in St Thomas and loved the location near Magens Bay Beach! The outdoor shaded tables and chairs were key for eating meals and having a cup of coffee in the morning while we listened to the waves. We also appreciated how Frank, Vivian and Esther had coolers, chairs and some snorkel equipment for us to use while we were there. Enjoyed the sunset on the patio with the most amazing view! We got a little zoo paradise. Waves pounding against the rocky peninsula while pelicans catch fish right at the bottom of the cliff 20 feet down while big iguanas lie basking in the nearest trees and cacti a few feet from the patio. Also, thank you for all the great recommendations you provided and the wonderful hospitality!

My husband and I stayed in Frank and Vivian's studio suite on the top floor of their amazing villa for 4 nights. The place had everything we needed, was clean and beautifully arranged. But what makes it magical is the magnificent view from the terrace which cannot be surpassed. Being at the tip of a peninsula makes you feel like you are in the middle of the ocean yet with views of small islands and the land across the bay. Vivian and Frank are lovely people. They were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We wish we could come back next week. Additional Comments: Dear Vivian and Frank, Thank you so so much for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment. This place is awesome! it's secluded but has a nice point you can walk to and spend time looking at the sea. because it's away from the city, the stars are very visible at night. The property was beautiful and clean.

This is a wonderful property situated on Magen's Bay. The property was very clean and well appointed, with a private entrance. Our host were very accommodating! Really they were! We had misplaced our car keys thinking we lost them. Vivian and her husband were both helping us look for them. We found them after a short while. The bedroom overlooked the bay and we slept with the windows open letting the sound of the surf lull us to sleep! Kitchen had everything we needed and was even stocked with some breakfast basics! That came in handy a we just wanted to relax and not go shopping when we arrived. Bathroom was good and the shower is good size. We walked daily down to Picara Point, which is a short walk. This is a beautiful spot to view the waves crashing on point! Thank you Vivian for hosting us!

Vivian and Frank were simply wonderful. They were proactive, very accommodating, helpful and genuinely concerned when my dad fell ill on the trip. The Oceanfront suite is just as described; it is well stocked and furnished and had everything we needed for our short stay. The description says they provide 'a' welcome breakfast, but it was more than enough for 3 breakfasts! The villa is in a beautiful location, and is very private. We all had a great time and HIGHLY recommend Picara Pearl! Beautiful place, wonderful hosts! I can't say enough good things about our stay there!
