Picara Pearl Villa & Suites Magens Bay is located on St. Thomas' Northside, on Picara Point on the secluded Peterborg peninsula overlooking Magens Bay. Calm Magens Bay is to the southeast of the peninsula, and the turbulent Atlantic Ocean is to the north of the peninsula. A rental car or jeep is the best way to get around. UPDATE: The new owners of the property near the end of the point installed a fence for the safety of the public. So, sightseers cannot walk towards the end of the point any longer.

Picara Point is a cape with an elevation of 20 feet above sea level. There are volcanic rock formations, a tide pool, and jagged, steep cliffs with waves from the Atlantic Ocean sometimes splashing over 6 feet. You can see some of the British Virgin Islands from here. It's also a fantastic location for a destination wedding ceremony. With romance already built into our beautiful suites, Picara Pearl Villa & Suites would be the perfect accommodations while you prepare to get married and for your honeymoon!
1-minute walk to the end of Picara Point
Yellow Line: Walking Trail on Picara Point Red Line: Rocks to the Tide Pool (Use Extreme Caution!) Lavender Circle Marker: Tide Pool CAUTION!
Enjoy the views and the walking path at Picara Point. However, due to the high splashes of water and steep cliffs, be cautious and use good judgment when you take a 1-minute walk on this point to enjoy the gorgeous, scenic views. Walking and climbing close to the edge or traversing the rocks near the tide pool is a highly dangerous activity and can cause injury or worse. Stay on solid ground! There are also small sea urchins and slippery plants on the tide pool walls. Large waves or a rogue wave can wash you into the sea. In the event of an emergency, it would take some time for an ambulance and rescue vehicles to reach this area. "Swimmers and the general public must exercise caution by staying away from shoreline rocks and jetties during periods of high surf, and be wary of undertow and riptides, even in shallow water. If you become caught in a rip current, do not panic. The way to escape a rip current is to swim parallel to the shore. Once you are away from the force of the rip current, begin to swim back to the beach. Do not attempt to swim directly against the current, as you can become easily exhausted, even if you are a strong swimmer." ~ Capt. Robert Warren, Coast Guard Sector San Juan commander
